      How to Edit Products Already Live on Otto – SKU Changes

      This article outlines the options for editing SKUs or EANs of products already live on Otto. Existing SKUs cannot be modified directly but can be managed through alternative methods.

      English:

      1. Changing SKUs via Shopify Sync Strategy

      • SKUs already live on Otto cannot be directly edited, as they are crucial for product references.

      • SKUs are synced between Shopify and Otto to keep inventory and orders aligned.

      • If you intentionally change a SKU in Shopify, synchronization will stop.

      • Workflow:

        • Slightly modify the SKU in Shopify.

        • The product will no longer sync inventory with Otto.

        • In Otto OPC -> Products, manually set inventory to 0.

        • Deactivate the product → it remains permanently deactivated.

        • You can also modify or delete the EAN to trigger a new product push.

      2. Permanent Product Deactivation

      • In Otto OPC, go to Products.

      • Remove the EAN.

      • Change the SKU in Shopify to prevent future syncs.

      • Optionally use Hello-Pine’s Collection/Tag sync to manage which products are synced:

        • Only products within selected collections or tags in Shopify are synced.

        • Remove the product from the collection or tag.

        • Trigger a new sync in Hello-Pine.

        • The product will no longer be included in future synchronizations.

      1. Änderung von SKUs über die Shopify-Synchronisation

      • Bereits übertragene SKUs können nicht direkt geändert werden, da sie für die Produktreferenzierung entscheidend sind.

      • Wir synchronisieren SKUs zwischen Shopify und Otto, um Bestellungen und Lagerbestände aktuell zu halten.

      • Wenn du eine SKU in Shopify gezielt änderst, wird die Synchronisation deaktiviert.

      • Vorgehensweise:

        • SKU in Shopify leicht abändern.

        • Produkt wird nicht mehr mit Otto synchronisiert.

        • Im Otto OPC unter Produkte den Bestand auf 0 setzen.

        • Produkt deaktivieren → bleibt dauerhaft deaktiviert.

        • Zusätzlich kann die EAN geändert oder gelöscht werden → wichtig für einen neuen Push.

      2. Produkte dauerhaft deaktivieren

      • Gehe im Otto OPC zu Produkte.

      • Entferne die EAN.

      • Ändere die SKU in Shopify, um weitere Synchronisation zu verhindern.

      • Alternativ über Hello-Pine gezielt Produkte per Kollektion oder Tag synchronisieren:

        • Es werden nur Produkte aus ausgewählten Shopify Kollektionen oder Tags synchronisiert.

        • Entferne das Produkt aus der Kollektion oder dem Tag.

        • Starte einen neuen Sync über Hello-Pine.

        • Produkt wird nicht mehr synchronisiert.
